The accountancy sector is seeing some of the biggest changes in its history. The overarching effects of the rapidly evolving digital era, regulatory updates and the changing demands of clients have collectively had a profound effect on the way accountants are approaching their practice services. Audit is an inevitable casualty for small-medium sized accountancy firms who need to continue to provide a comprehensive service but for whom it is becoming less viable for a number of reasons. Working with an independent team of auditors is becoming an increasingly attractive proposition.
No threat
At Just Audit we work alongside our accountant clients to offer an independent service for those who, for many reasons, choose not to be audit registered. We also carry out CASS5 (insurance) audits; Solicitors’ Accounts Rules; and ATOL accountants’ reports – all of which require auditor status.
As we don’t provide accountancy or tax services we are a neutral ally for the accountant, posing zero threat and ‘just audit’.
Highly knowledgeable
For the client it’s win-win as they get the expertise of their trusted accountants with their varied client base, CPD and experience to draw on – and we have ours, so they get double the benefit. They also get the additional layer of specialist audit knowledge delivered by the Just Audit team.
Audit is all we do. It means we are totally focused and know our stuff. We have decades of experience to call on - and are (naturally) completely up-to-date with today’s knowledge.
The onerous regulatory aspect of audit is less of a burden when it’s your specialist subject!
It makes commercial sense
Maintaining a team of audit staff is becoming increasingly untenable for accountancy firms who don’t have a high enough number of clients who require an audit. Audit attracts its own set of costs in terms of specialist and experienced talent, dedicated software and constant training and the time it takes to stay on top of all aspects of compliance (not to mention the dreaded QAD visit!).
Why would a firm of accountants offer audit as an occasional side-service, potentially impacting on their main deliverables? By appointing us as their clients’ independent auditors, many firms can concentrate on what they do best; and prevent their clients leaving altogether.
Work with existing and potential audit clients
A strong relationship with an independent audit practice means you can look after existing clients with an audit requirement – and you can pitch for new clients that might be larger than you’d normally consider. It’s a hassle-free, dependable way to look after, and grow, your practice.
Independence
This model of working successfully reflects our complete independence as we don’t get involved with accountancy or tax advice. We operate in exactly the same way that larger practices have to work with their listed clients.
Whatever your reason for working with us for audit, if you’d like to know more, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
